aBOUT the teacher...

Kimberly Vandiver* moved from her hometown of Houston, Texas to Los Angeles in 2003 to follow her dreams of becoming an actress. Since then, she's been blessed to work on numerous film and television projects, including iCarly, CSI, The Game, and Something New, as well as a number of national commercial and print campaigns for companies such as Target, Diet Coke, Nike, Old Navy and Chevrolet to name a few.

 In addition to her acting career, over the years Kimberly has been fortunate to have many teaching opportunities. From working in charter and private schools around Los Angeles, to teaching acting to foster youth, and being Director of Education for The Opportunity Institute, she has witnessed firsthand the intelligence and thoughtful character of some of today's brightest young people.

She's enthusiastic about having a hand in nurturing students' natural skills and talents and she brings her dedication to the Lord, a passion for empowering young people, and a love for acting to all of her students.

Whenever she's not acting or teaching, Kimberly and her husband Korstiaan (writer/director) are diligently working towards bringing more Christ-centered film and television projects to audiences everywhere.

Educate. Equip. Empower. Every class at S&L is taught with these three goals in mind. Our curriculum is uniquely designed to teach the fundamental and advanced techniques of acting, while incorporating into every class valuable life lessons along with their biblical and practical application. 

Students start out in the Foundations program, an introductory acting course that's offered free of charge to new students. From there, students may advance to the ongoing Scene Study class where they'll continue developing their skills and growing as artists.

Eligible students have the exciting opportunity to audition to become a part of The S&L Players Theatre Company, an acting troupe dedicated to using their acting talents to give back to the community!
